چکیده
This work investigates the mechanical and hygrothermal properties of hybrid cement mortar including both microencapsulated phase change materials micronized miscanthus fibers. An experimental protocol was first developed for preparing mix, which allows to maintain same workability as that reference mortar, ensure homogeneous distribution two types inclusions within matrix. then characterized at age 28 days, in terms strength, thermophysical (determination thermal conductivity/diffusivity by Hot-Disk method), hygric (evaluation Moisture Buffer Value – MBV, according NordTest method). Overall, showed a significant decrease conductivity compared (−68%), suggesting it is good insulation material. Conversely, MBV only slightly improved remained much below filled with amount fibers but without Furthermore, large drop observed respect (−91%). Hence, interest solution questionable, presence seems hinder beneficial effect vegetal on hygroscopic behavior. In present case, introduction single best option improving performance moisture regulation capacity material scale.

It is demonstrated that the addition of organo-modified Na-bentonite (OMB) particles to Portland cement mortar can promote its physical and mechanical properties. A series of experimental works on some important physico-mechanical properties of Portland cement mortars mixed with various dosages of hydrophobic OMB were performed. The obtained results confirm that the OMB provides a dense packing...
متن کاملThermophysical and Mechanical Properties of Hardened Cement Paste with Microencapsulated Phase Change Materials for Energy Storage
In this research, structural-functional integrated cement-based materials were prepared by employing cement paste and a microencapsulated phase change material (MPCM) manufactured using urea-formaldehyde resin as the shell and paraffin as the core material. The encapsulation ratio of the MPCM could reach up to 91.21 wt%. Thermal energy storage cement pastes (TESCPs) incorporated with different ...
متن کاملChanges in Properties of Cement and Lime Mortars When Incorporating Fibers from End-of-Life Tires
This paper studies the addition of fibers from end-of-life tires to commercial mortar mixtures. Two different types of mortar, one lime-plastic and other cement-fluid, are mixed with different percentage of fibers ranging from 0% to 1%. The changes in bulk density, consistency, compressive and flexural strength, dynamic Young modulus and water absorption are studied. According to the results, c...
متن کاملCharacterization of Mechanical and Bactericidal Properties of Cement Mortars Containing Waste Glass Aggregate and Nanomaterials
The recycling of waste glass is a major problem for municipalities worldwide. The problem concerns especially colored waste glass which, due to its low recycling rate as result of high level of impurity, has mostly been dumped into landfills. In recent years, a new use was found for it: instead of creating waste, it can be recycled as an additive in building materials. The aim of the study was ...
